Rules

Singles

Bowl 3 games across 6 lanes. The highest 13 handicap series and 3 special seeds advance to single game head to head elimination (Special Seeds in no particular order - High Super Senior (60) out of cut :: High Female out of cut :: High Scratch Series out of cut). Should a bowler be in the position of more than one special seed, they will be assigned whichever seed allows the next highest handicap series bowler to advance to head to head competition.

Singles (Low-Entry Format. Less than 30 Entries - Very Rare!)

Bowl 3 games across 6 lanes. The highest 5 handicap series and 3 special seeds advance to single game head to head elimination (Special Seeds in no particular order - High Super Senior (60) out of cut :: High Female out of cut :: High Scratch Series out of cut). Should a bowler be in the position of more than one special seed, they will be assigned whichever seed allows the next highest handicap series bowler to advance to head to head competition.

Head to head rules:

Bowlers will be seeded by handicap series scores into a sixteen (eight for Low-Entry Format) bowler bracket. (Tie breakers for bracket placement will be high handicap game, then second high handicap game, then coin toss. Bowlers missing bracket solely by tie-breaker will receive amount equal to lowest payout for tournament.) High single game handicap score advances. Starting lane will be assigned for each bowler. Higher seed will choose to bowl first or second (10th frame only when multiple bowlers per lane). Ties will be decided by a 9th and 10th frame roll off with 1/5 handicap.

Doubles

Bowl 3 games across 6 lanes. Combined score of handicap series will determine placement of each team. 1st place to be guaranteed. Number of places to cash will be at least 1 in 10 entries. Alibis are available. May only cash once with same partner. Max handicap per person applies.

Marathons

Bowl 8 games across 16 lanes. Handicap scores of all 8 games combined will determine bowler placement. 1st place to be guaranteed. Number of places to cash will be at least 1 in 10. May only cash once per tournament.

Tournament of Champions

Bowl 3 games across 6 lanes. Format will change yearly after the 3 initial games. Multiple tournament winners will have an advantage of 3 additional handicap pins per additional tournament won.

Progessive Pots

Must bowl 300 scratch or 320 handicap to win. Must be Member in good standing. If multiple winners in same squad, pot will be split equally.

Strike Pots

Must have strike in pre-determined frames to win. Must be Member in good standing. Winner wins half of pot. If multiple winners in same squad, half of pot will be split equally.

Handicap

Men receive 90% of difference between 225 and verified average. Women receive 95% of difference between 225 and verified average. Max handicap is 60 pins.

Handicap pins will be reduced by 1 pin for each hundred dollars won by tournament placement (does not include pot or bracket winnings.) Example: If bowler wins $250 dollars for a second place finish, their handicap will be reduced by 2 pins beginning with the next tournament.

--Members will receive 1 bonus pin for each tournament bowled without cashing up to 10 additional pins. Men have a maximum handicap with bonus pins of 60. For women, the maximum is 70. Bonus pins used to return to starting handicap do not count toward the 10 bonus pin limit.

On September 1st of each year, all bonus pins and pins lost due to earnings will be cleared and new yearbook average will apply.

Average

All bowlers will use last season highest USBC average of 21 or more games. Current average of 21 or more games may be used if no average exists for last year. If current average of at least 21 games is greater than last year's average by 10 or more pins, bowler must use current average (Rule319a, item 2).

Bowlers without a verified average will bowl scratch (Rule 319b).

Tournament management has the right to adjust any entrant's average upward prior to participation in any event. Bowler may choose not to bowl prior to participating and receive entry fee back (Rule 319c).

Bowlers must inform tournament management of $600 or more in winnings in any event held in the past 12 months to allow re-rate (Rule 319d).

Bowlers must inform tournament management if tournament average of 21 games or more is 15 pins or more greater than average that would normally be used (Rule 319e).

Failure to comply with any of these rules may subject the bowler to forfeiture of entry fees and winnings.

Contingencies

In the event of problems that are outside of Tournament Management's control, the following will apply.

1. If the event must be cancelled prior to first ball of competition, All funds accepted for tournament will be refunded.

2. If the event must be cancelled after the beginning of competition but prior to end of squad play, all prize fund will be refunded. All admin funds will be refunded. Any unused lineage will be refunded.

3. If the event must be cancelled during the Head to Head competition, remaining prize fund will be equally distributed to remaining bowlers.

4. For Doubles and Marathons, if at least half of the scheduled squads were able to be bowled, there will be no change to the payouts. If less than half are able to be bowled, all prize fund will be refunded. All admin funds will be refunded. Unused lineage will be refunded.

Tournament Director has final authority over any disputes.
